Cordless DECT phones for staff on the move

DECT cordless phones give staff who move around your site the same features as a desk phone: their own extension, transfer, hold and voicemail. A DECT base station plugs into your network and the handsets connect to it by radio, so there’s no Wi-Fi to set up and no phone wiring to run.

How a cordless system fits together

  1. Start with a bundle. The W73P, W78P and W79P Pro each include a W70B base station and one handset.
  2. Add handsets. One W70B base supports up to 10 handsets. Choose the W73H for everyday use, the W78H for a larger colour screen, or the W59R Pro for tough environments.
  3. Extend coverage. Add an RT30 repeater to reach dead spots, such as the far end of a warehouse or another floor. Each base supports up to 6 repeaters.

Which handset suits your site?

  • Offices, clinics and retail: the W73H is light and simple, with clear HD audio and extra volume for noisy areas.
  • Busy front-of-house staff: the W78H has a 2.4-inch colour screen and long battery life.
  • Warehouses, workshops and outdoor sites: the W59R Pro is IP67 rated for dust and water, drop resistant to 2 metres, and has an emergency button.

How many handsets can I connect to one base?

The Yealink W70B base station supports up to 10 handsets. For larger sites, call us to plan a system with more than one base.

What range do DECT phones have?

Range depends on the building. As a guide, expect up to about 50 metres indoors and 300 metres outdoors in open space. Walls, floors and metal shelving reduce range, which is where an RT30 repeater helps.

Do cordless phones use my Wi-Fi?

No. DECT uses its own radio frequency, separate from Wi-Fi, so it doesn’t compete with your wireless network. Only the base station connects to your network, by cable.

Can I mix different handset models?

Yes. The W73H, W78H and W59R Pro can all be registered to the same W70B base.

Which cordless phone is best for a warehouse?

The W79P Pro bundle with the rugged W59R Pro handset. It’s IP67 rated for dust and water and survives drops of up to 2 metres. Add RT30 repeaters for large or multi-level buildings.

How is the base station powered?

The W70B can be powered over the network cable from a PoE switch, or with its power adapter.
