What is the difference between Hosted PBX and SIP trunking?
Hosted PBX is the whole phone system, run in the cloud and managed by us. SIP trunking is the connection between a phone system you own and the phone network. If you do not have a phone system, or yours is ageing, Hosted PBX is usually simpler.
What is VoIP?
VoIP (voice over IP) carries phone calls over the internet instead of old copper lines. Hosted PBX and SIP trunking are both VoIP services, and since the NBN most Australian businesses use VoIP.
Can I keep my current phone numbers?
Yes. We port your existing numbers across as part of the switch. See number porting.
Will it work with my NBN connection?
Yes. A reliable business NBN or fibre connection is all you need. Each call uses less than 100 kbps each way, and we can check your network and firewall before you switch.
Is the AI receptionist available with SIP trunking?
The AI receptionist and call transcription are part of Hosted PBX. With SIP trunking, features like these depend on your own phone system.
Can I move from SIP trunking to Hosted PBX later?
Yes. Your numbers stay with us, so moving from SIP trunks to Hosted PBX is a change of setup, not a change of number.
