Number porting

Keep your numbers when you switch

Move your landline, 1300 and 1800 numbers to CloudLine without reprinting a single business card. We do the paperwork and set everything up before the switch.

Types of port

Simple or complex? We’ll work it out.

Modern IP desk phones with colour touchscreens and a key expansion module

Simple port

One number on a standard line

A single landline number, or a 1300 or 1800 number. Usually the quickest to move.

Complex port

Number ranges and multi-line services

Several numbers, number blocks, or services such as ISDN. We plan the cut-over with you.

How it works

Four steps, and we handle three of them

1 · You

Send us a recent bill

Email it to support@cloudline.com.au. It shows the account number and the numbers to move, so the request matches first time.

2 · Us

We lodge the port

We deal with your current provider and keep you updated.

3 · Us

We set up routing

Greetings, queues and phones are ready before the numbers arrive.

4 · Us

Cut-over

Calls start arriving on CloudLine. We confirm with a test call.

Porting fees

Clear, one-off fees

Your first port is free when you take a CloudLine phone plan (a SIP trunk or our hosted phone system). Otherwise, these one-off fees apply.

What you’ll need

  • A recent bill from your current provider
  • The account holder’s name and ABN
  • A list of the numbers to move
  • A signed authority from an authorised contact
  • Send them all to support@cloudline.com.au.

Don’t cancel your old service yet

Cancelling before the port completes can mean losing the number. We’ll tell you when it’s safe.

FAQ

Porting questions

Step-by-step guide in the Help Centre.

Will my phones stop working during the port?

Your current service keeps running until the port completes, so you can keep taking calls while we move your numbers.

What if the port is rejected?

It’s usually because details don’t match your current account, such as the account number or business name. We’ll tell you what to fix and lodge it again.

Can I port a mobile number?

Yes. Moving a mobile number to CloudLine costs $27.50 once off, then $13.20 a month for calls and SMS. See mobile numbers.

Do I need to tell my old provider?

No. The port request tells them. Don’t cancel your old service until we confirm the port is complete, or you may lose the number.

Ready to move your numbers?

Email a recent bill to support@cloudline.com.au and we’ll confirm the port type and fees.
