The basics

What is wholesale SIP trunking?

A SIP trunk connects a business phone system to the phone network over the internet. With wholesale SIP trunking, you buy trunks, phone numbers and calls at wholesale rates and resell them to your own clients at your own prices.

With CloudLine it’s also white label. Your clients see your name on the portal and on every invoice, and they call you for help. We run the carrier network and support your team behind the scenes.

  • IT providers and MSPs who already look after their clients’ networks and phone systems
  • Phone system installers who want recurring revenue from every site
  • Businesses that want voice as part of a bundle with IT, internet or security

What you get

Everything you need to sell SIP as your own

Australian Tier 1 network

Calls travel on an Australian Tier 1 carrier network for clear, reliable business voice.

Works with your clients’ systems

Most SIP-compatible IP PBXs and VoIP gateways connect. Tell us what your clients use and we’ll check it before you sell.

Numbers, with free porting to start

Local numbers in any area, plus 1300 and 1800 numbers that point to your clients’ trunks. Porting your clients’ numbers in is free during onboarding.

Your plans, your rates

Build pay-as-you-go or bundled plans and set your own call rates and channel prices. No minimum spend.

Your brand on the portal and invoices

A brandable SIP portal to manage every client, and a billing system that takes card payments through your Stripe account and syncs to your Xero.

IPND looked after

We keep the Integrated Public Number Database up to date for the numbers on our network, so 000 calls and directory records stay correct.

Onboarding

We set it up with you

You don’t start from a blank portal. In an onboarding session we load your plans, call rates and branding for you, so you’re ready to sell from day one.

Step 1

Apply

Sign up online. We check your business details and set up your partner portal login.

Step 2

Onboarding session

We go through your plans, rates and pricing with you, then import them and set up your branding.

Step 3

Move your clients

Port your clients’ numbers in, free during onboarding. We schedule each port and help with the cut-over.

Step 4

Start selling

Add new clients in the portal and bill them in your name every month.

Before you sell

Your obligations, made simpler

We’ll walk you through what’s involved during onboarding.

Selling phone services to your clients under your own name generally makes you a carriage service provider in Australia. That usually means:

  • Joining the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO)
  • Following the Telecommunications Consumer Protections (TCP) Code when you sell to small businesses
  • Handling your own customers’ complaints, with CloudLine supporting you on anything technical

What we handle: the network, IPND records for the numbers on our platform, number porting, and technical support for your team.

This is general information, not legal advice. Check your obligations with the TIO and ACMA.

FAQ

Wholesale SIP questions

Something else? Call our partner team on 1800 256 830.

What is a wholesale SIP trunk?

A SIP trunk connects a phone system to the phone network over the internet. Wholesale means you buy it at wholesale rates and resell it to your clients at your own price, under your own brand.

Is there a minimum spend?

No. There’s no minimum spend, so you can start with one client and grow from there.

Can I set my own call rates and plans?

Yes. You set your own channel prices, call rates and bundles. During onboarding we load your plans and rates into the portal for you.

Is number porting free?

Porting your clients’ numbers in is free during your onboarding period, so moving your existing clients across doesn’t cost you anything up front. After that, standard partner porting fees apply.

Which phone systems work?

Most SIP-compatible IP PBXs and VoIP gateways. Tell us what your clients use and we’ll check compatibility before you sell.

Who looks after the IPND?

We do. We keep the Integrated Public Number Database records up to date for the numbers on our network.

Do I need to join the TIO?

Generally yes. If you sell phone services to your clients under your own name, you’ll usually need to be a member of the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman. We can talk you through it during onboarding.

How do I see wholesale pricing?

Apply for wholesale access. Once you’re approved, we share our wholesale rates and go through them with you.
